A CoBRA commando of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sustained injuries after an improvised explosive device (IED), allegedly planted by Naxals, exploded during an area domination operation in Chhattisgarh&rsquo;s Bijapur district on Saturday, officials said.
According to reports, the blast occurred when a team from the 206th battalion of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) had launched an operation from the Pujari Kanker camp under the Usoor police station limits.
While conducting a cordon and search operation in a forested area, one of the commandos accidentally stepped on a hidden explosive device.&nbsp;
The blast caused minor injuries to the jawan, who was quickly evacuated to a nearby medical facility for treatment. 
Officials confirmed that his condition is stable and he is out of danger.
Security personnel frequently face such threats in the Bastar region, which covers seven districts, including Bijapur. 
Naxals often plant IEDs along forest trails and roads to target patrolling forces. 
In several cases, civilians have also been injured or killed in these blasts.
Officials added that this incident occurred just two days after a minor boy was critically injured in a similar IED explosion in Bijapur&rsquo;s Gangaloor area, underscoring the continued threat posed by Naxal violence in the region.
