In a shocking case of familial violence, a Class 10 student in Hyderabad has been arrested for murdering her mother with the help of her boyfriend and his minor brother. The incident took place in New LB Nagar, Shapurnagar, under the Jeedimetla Police Station.
The victim, 39-year-old Satla Anjali, a folk singer associated with a Telangana government cultural scheme, was found dead at her home on Monday night. Her sister lodged a police complaint, suspecting foul play.
Investigations revealed that Anjali&rsquo;s 16-year-old daughter was in a relationship with 19-year-old Shiva Kumar, a DJ operator from Nalgonda district, which the mother strongly opposed. Following repeated clashes, the teenager allegedly conspired to kill her mother.
On the evening of June 23, the girl sent her younger sister out of the house and invited Shiva and another juvenile inside. Together, they strangled Anjali using a nylon scarf (chunni) and inflicted a head injury to ensure her death. Afterwards, the girl locked the house and tried to silence her younger sister, who eventually informed their aunt.
Cyberabad Police arrested the three accused within 24 hours, crediting a swift and meticulous investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Suresh Kumar confirmed the murder was pre-planned, with the motive being the victim&rsquo;s disapproval of her daughter&rsquo;s relationship.
