The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested three individuals in connection with the ongoing Digital Arrest fraud case, marking a significant step under its ongoing Operation Chakra V. The arrests, aimed at dismantling transnational cyber-enabled financial fraud networks, highlight the agency&rsquo;s intensified efforts to protect Indian citizens from large-scale online scams.
One of the accused was apprehended in Kerala, while the other two were taken into custody in Gujarat. Authorities recovered critical digital and documentary evidence linking the individuals to the conspiracy. They were reportedly involved in providing domestic facilitation support, including financial channels, to perpetrators operating from abroad.
Following their arrest, the accused were presented before local courts in Kerala and Gujarat. Transit warrants were subsequently obtained to bring them to Delhi, where they were produced before the CBI Court.
The arrests come in the wake of extensive nationwide searches conducted last week at around 40 locations across Delhi NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala, and West Bengal. Investigators seized critical evidence, including digital devices, KYC documents, SIM cards, and communication records. These findings revealed an organized domestic facilitation network that was supporting a syndicate involving foreign-based cybercriminals.
The CBI reaffirmed its commitment to combating cyber-enabled financial crimes through intelligence-led operations, inter-agency coordination, and advanced digital forensics. These latest developments underline the agency&rsquo;s proactive stance against complex transnational fraud networks and its resolve to safeguard citizens from cyber financial crimes.
