The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in close coordination with National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Interpol, successfully extradited Salman Rehman Khan, wanted for terror-related offences, to India.
Salman was reportedly running a small shop in Rwanda, when a red notice was sent by the Indian government earlier this year. He has been charged with offences of criminal conspiracy, being a member and providing support to a terrorist organization and offences relating to Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act. 
Being a member of an internationally proscribed terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Khan had assisted in providing arms, ammunition and explosives to further terrorist activities in Bengaluru city. 
At NIA&rsquo;s request, CBI had asked Interpol to issue a &ldquo;red notice&rdquo; against Khan in August this year. He was subsequently geolocated in Rwanda with close assistance from Interpol and the National Central Bureau, Kigali. 
Similar extraditions were also carried out for Barkat Ali Khan, who geolocated in Saudi Arabia. He is wanted for offences of rioting and use of explosive substances. 
CBI had also coordinated the return of Raihan Arabikkalalarikkal wanted for committing rape and sexual offences against a minor. He was also geolocated in Saudi Arabia with assistance from Interpol and National Central Bureau, Riyadh. 
Since, 2021, as many as 100 wanted criminals&mdash;including 26 this year&mdash;have been returned to India through coordination via Interpol channels.
