The partially decomposed bodies of a minor girl and an 18-year-old youth were discovered near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan&rsquo;s Jaisalmer district, police said on Sunday.
The bodies were recovered on Saturday from the Sadhewala area, around 10&ndash;12 km inside Indian territory. Based on the state of decomposition, authorities estimate that the deaths occurred about a week ago.
A Pakistani SIM card and an identity card belonging to the youth, identified as Ravi Kumar, were found at the scene. It remains unclear whether the victims were Indian or Pakistani nationals.
Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary confirmed that the bodies were sent to the Ramgarh Community Health Centre for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of their deaths and whether cross-border elements are involved.
