Five workers sustained serious injuries after a blast in a chemical mixing bucket at a paint factory in Noida&rsquo;s Phase-1 (Sector 8) on Thursday afternoon. According to authorities, the injured are stable and undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
The explosion occurred during a routine mixing operation when a spark is believed to have ignited chemicals in a 30-litre container, triggering a powerful blast. The explosion caused panic across the premises, but a quick response by workers and emergency teams ensured a timely evacuation and hospitalisation.
Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Choubey confirmed there was no fire, only a chemical explosion, and that emergency services responded within minutes of receiving the alert at 3:35 p.m.
A preliminary probe by Phase-1 police suggests that the incident was triggered by a spark during chemical mixing. The factory's safety measures and compliance with industrial standards are currently under scrutiny.
Technical experts have been called in to assist the investigation, and the factory management is being questioned. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken if negligence is proven.
