In a horrifying incident, a 10-year-old girl from Jhagadia GIDC area was abducted and brutally assaulted by a 36-year-old man. The accused, who lived next door, has been arrested.
Police have registered a criminal case for abduction, sexual assault under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to reports, the minor, who was playing near her house, was abducted by the accused, who carried her to a secluded area behind a wall near their neighborhood. 
He then physically assaulted her and even left injuries on her private parts. The accused left her bleeding and injured and fled. In pain from the assault, the girl crawled to the wall near her home and called out to her mother. 
Her mother climbed over the wall and found the minor in a critical state. With help from other neighbors, the girl was rushed to Bharuch Civil Hospital for treatment. 
After receiving intimation about the crime, Ankleshwar DYSP Dr Kushal Ojha and other police personnel showed up at the hospital. On the basis of the complaint filed by the girl&rsquo;s mother, separate teams were formed to begin investigation. 
The accused was nabbed from the neighbourhood. He confessed to the crime during interrogation. Jhagadia police have registered an official case against him for child abduction, rape under POCSO Act.
