A 30-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a high-end vehicle driven by a young person who was apparently intoxicated, according to police on Tuesday. According to them, Dhanush (20) was taken into custody and placed in judicial custody.
 &nbsp;Police said that on Saturday, Sandhya AS was struck by a Mercedes Benz car that collided with a bike while she was crossing the street close to the Kengeri TTMC (Traffic and Transit Management Centre) on the busy Mysuru Road.
 The accused attempted to leave the scene of the collision but was apprehended by onlookers who allegedly beat him. Sandhya was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital after the injured woman and the rider, Syed Arbaz, 23, were taken there right away. According to a senior traffic police official, Arbaz received treatment for minor injuries.
 Citing preliminary investigation, he stated, "The accused driver's alcometer test revealed that his blood alcohol content was 177 mg/100 ml, which was significantly higher than the legally permissible limit of 30 mg/100 ml."&nbsp;
 A private bus transport firm is owned by Dhanush's father."At the Kengeri traffic police station, we have filed a case against the accused car driver under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public road), 125 A (Act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and taken him into custody," a traffic official stated.
