<p data-start="301" data-end="811"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The police shared CCTV footage on their official X account to counter misinformation circulating about the incident. &ldquo;A lot of misinformation is being circulated from certain quarters regarding action taken by police over an incident of violation of traffic rules. It's apparently clear from the CCTV footage that the truck in question was being driven in dangerous manner violating the traffic lane. The other vehicle narrowly escaped a collision, thanks to the alertness of its driver,&rdquo; the statement said.</span></p>
<p data-start="813" data-end="1088"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Based on a complaint from a traffic sergeant of the Headquarters Traffic Guard, a case was registered against the Army truck driver at Hare Street Police Station under Section 281 (rash or negligent driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The truck was later seized.</span></p>
<p data-start="1090" data-end="1305"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The incident occurred near Writers&rsquo; Buildings in B.B.D. Bagh Square when the truck, coming from Fort William, attempted a prohibited right turn. The alertness of the Commissioner&rsquo;s driver helped avert a collision.</span></p>
<p data-start="1307" data-end="1549" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">This comes a day after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the Centre of misusing the Indian Army during the dismantling of a Trinamool Congress stage in central Kolkata, which was later halted by Army personnel on her arrival.</span></p>
