An accused in an abduction and extortion case sustained a gunshot injury on his leg Friday morning after allegedly trying to snatch the service revolver of a police inspector, officials confirmed.
The accused, identified as Sangramsingh Rakeshsingh Sikarwar, was being transferred from Ramol police station to the Crime Branch headquarters at Gaekwad Haveli when the incident occurred.
According to officers, Sikarwar attempted to grab the inspector&rsquo;s revolver during the transfer. 
A scuffle broke out, leading to two rounds being fired&mdash;one struck the vehicle, while the other pierced through Sikarwar&rsquo;s right foot.
He was immediately shifted to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, where he received medical treatment.
