The bodies of two men and two women from Bengaluru were discovered hanging inside a room at a dharamshala in Bihar&rsquo;s Rajgir on Friday, prompting a detailed police investigation into the mysterious deaths.
The incident came to light after the manager of the Digambar Jain Dharamshala alerted authorities about a foul smell emanating from one of the rooms. Police arrived at the site and recovered the bodies, which preliminary findings suggest had been there for several days.
Officials said the group had checked into the rest house on January 31 and had not been seen since Monday, when the room was last opened. While early indications point to deaths occurring days earlier, the exact cause remains unclear, and investigators are awaiting autopsy reports for confirmation.
The dharamshala staff have been questioned, and authorities have begun examining mobile call records, CCTV footage, and the group&rsquo;s recent movements to reconstruct their final days. Investigators are exploring multiple possibilities, including suicide, financial disputes, or a potential conspiracy.
According to the dharamshala management, one member of the group submitted an Aadhaar card identifying him as a Bengaluru resident, while the others did not provide identity documents. Police have since contacted the victims&rsquo; families.
