The boy, identified as Aaklan Jain, was a class 7 student and lived in Anurag Nagar under the MIG police station area.</span></p>
<p data-start="427" data-end="666"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">According to police, Aaklan was deeply addicted to online gaming and had connected his gaming account to his mother's debit card via Wi-Fi. After losing ₹2,800 in the game, he informed his mother, Apurva Jain, who scolded him for the loss.</span></p>
<p data-start="668" data-end="891"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Shortly after the scolding, Aaklan went to his study room, locked the door from inside, and was later found hanging from a ceiling fan by his grandfather. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.</span></p>
<p data-start="893" data-end="1127"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Police reached the hospital and later visited the family&rsquo;s residence as part of the ongoing investigation. MIG police station in-charge C.B. Singh confirmed the connection between the financial loss in the game and the boy&rsquo;s decision.</span></p>
<p data-start="1129" data-end="1390"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">This is not the first such incident in Madhya Pradesh. In 2022, an 11-year-old in Bhopal who was addicted to the same game also died by suicide. Despite multiple such tragedies, promises made by the state government to regulate online gaming remain unfulfilled.</span></p>
