&nbsp;In a disturbing case of toxic romance, a young man fatally stabbed a girl and then attempted to take his own life in Telangana&rsquo;s Sangareddy district on Monday.
The incident took place at Bandlaguda Balajinagar near Patancheru, where the accused, identified as Praveen, allegedly attacked Ramya, a degree student, at her residence during an argument. She died on the spot, while Praveen, who then stabbed himself, was admitted to a Beeramguda hospital in critical condition.
Police said the two were previously in a relationship. On Monday, Praveen reportedly visited Ramya&rsquo;s home to discuss a personal matter. An argument escalated, leading him to use a knife he had brought along.
Neighbours rushed in after hearing screams but arrived too late to save the girl. Her body was found in a pool of blood, lying on a cot. The case has been registered at Ramachandrapuram Police Station under the Cyberabad Commissionerate, and a probe is underway.
In a separate tragic incident in the same district, a nine-year-old girl from Chitkul, Patancheru Mandal, accidentally choked to death. She had tied a cloth to a ceiling fan while playing during a power cut. When the electricity returned, the cloth tightened around her neck, leading to fatal injuries.
Both bodies were sent for autopsy at the Patancheru government hospital, and police have launched separate investigations.
