DownDetector, a real-time outage tracking platform, recorded a staggering 23,000 complaints after 7:00 PM, with various payment apps experiencing technical challenges. Google Pay emerged as one of the most affected platforms, with 296 reported issues, representing 72% of problems related to payment processing.
The State Bank of India (SBI), the nation's largest public sector bank, also reported substantial digital service disruptions. Users experienced significant challenges across multiple banking channels:

In January, UPI transactions crossed an impressive 16.99 billion, with a transaction value exceeding ₹23.48 lakh crore&mdash;the highest recorded in any month, according to the Finance Ministry.
One X user notably commented, "For the first time in my life I've experienced UPI downtime. Not Banks, or gateways, but @UPI_NPCI itself, and their uptime was 100% in February."
