<p data-start="117" data-end="428"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">In a strong sign of the deepening UK&ndash;India economic relationship, a record 1,197 Indian-owned companies are now operating in the United Kingdom &mdash; marking a 23% increase from 2024, when 971 such businesses were registered. This is the highest number recorded since Grant Thornton began tracking the data in 2017.</span></p>
<p data-start="430" data-end="725"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">According to the newly released India Meets Britain Tracker 2025 report, the combined revenue of these Indian firms has risen to &pound;72.14 billion, up from &pound;68.09 billion last year. These companies now employ 126,720 people across the UK and have added over 8,000 new jobs in the past year alone.</span></p>
<p data-start="727" data-end="1096"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The report also highlighted a rise in gender diversity, with the proportion of female directors increasing to 24%, compared to 21% in 2024. Among the fastest-growing firms, 74 companies reported revenue growth of 10% or more. On average, these tracker firms achieved a growth rate of 42%, contributed &pound;67.3 million in corporation tax, and created more than 56,000 jobs.</span></p>
<p data-start="1098" data-end="1280"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Anuj Chande, Partner and Head of the South Asia Business Group at Grant Thornton, said the data reflects India's continued confidence in the UK as a strategic investment destination.</span></p>
<p data-start="1282" data-end="1659"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The report &mdash; developed in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and enhanced this year by the India Global Forum (IGF) &mdash; was launched at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London. UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds and Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal jointly inaugurated the findings during IGF&rsquo;s London flagship programme.</span></p>
<p data-start="1661" data-end="1860"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Topping the growth rankings is Wipro IT Services UK Societas, which recorded an impressive 448% revenue growth. Corporate IT management firm Zoho Corporation Limited followed with a 197% growth rate.</span></p>
<p data-start="1862" data-end="2022"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">London remains the preferred base for Indian businesses, with 47% headquartered in the capital. The South of England comes next, hosting 24.3% of the companies.</span></p>
<p data-start="2024" data-end="2393" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) leads all sectors, representing 31% of the tracked companies. Pharmaceuticals and chemicals rank second at 22%. Notably, financial services companies now account for 9.5% of all firms &mdash; their highest share in recent years &mdash; driven by Indian banks and financial institutions expanding within London&rsquo;s global financial hub.</span></p>
