Bengaluru-based billionaire Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has criticised IndiGo Airlines for serving what she described as &ldquo;uninviting and tasteless&rdquo; food on its premium IndiGoStretch service. 
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Biocon founder shared a photo of her in-flight meal, questioning the airline&rsquo;s definition of &ldquo;gourmet cuisine.&rdquo;
&ldquo;This is what ⁦@IndiGo6E⁩ calls gourmet cuisine for Stretch passengers! I prefer their regular items! Oberoi should introspect on this uninviting and tasteless menu &mdash; please do a customer survey, and I bet you there will be 100% [agreement],&rdquo; Mazumdar-Shaw wrote, tagging the airline. 
IndiGoStretch is the carrier&rsquo;s premium business class offering.
The shared image showed menu items including &ldquo;German lentil and feta salad with beetroot aalouti,&rdquo; &ldquo;Lavash with cream cheese yogurt dip,&rdquo; &ldquo;Theedoi tres leches cake,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Mixed nuts with pink salt and pepper.&rdquo; 
The list also mentioned beverages served on board.
HT.com has reached out to IndiGo for comment, and the story will be updated once the airline responds.
When one user asked what she would have preferred instead, Mazumdar-Shaw replied, &ldquo;My magic upma or noodles or even sandwiches!&rdquo;
Her post quickly sparked an online discussion about the declining quality of airline meals. 
One user commented, &ldquo;Haha, I feel you! The &lsquo;gourmet&rsquo; label often raises expectations, but reality on board sometimes falls short. Maybe airlines should conduct proper customer surveys before calling it gourmet.&rdquo;
Another remarked, &ldquo;Agreed. The food has really gone downhill. Feels like sterilised food served in an ICU,&rdquo; while a fourth added, &ldquo;Not appetising at all, just fancy words!&rdquo;
