The shift is structural, not cyclical. Demand is rising every year, supply is stagnating, and central banks have begun paying attention to physical silver just as they did with gold earlier.
The silver market is navigating a multi-year supply deficit that is now altering price trajectories, investor psychology, industrial planning, and national stockpiling strategies. For India&mdash;one of the world&rsquo;s largest silver consumers&mdash;these trends carry both opportunity and risk as domestic prices approach psychological thresholds even as industrial demand accelerates.

The most dominant driver is industrial use, which accounts for more than half the world&rsquo;s silver consumption. In many applications&mdash;from advanced switches to AI server components&mdash;silver&rsquo;s conductivity makes it indispensable. Physical investment adds another dimension. Four nations&mdash;the U.S., India, Germany, and Australia&mdash;account for nearly 80% of global retail silver investment. Physical buying, which once fluctuated sharply, has strengthened in 2023&ndash;25 as prices rose more than 80% in two years.

Cumulatively, 1.74 million tonnes of silver have been mined in human history, and an estimated 2.7&ndash;3.1 million tonnesof recoverable reserves remain. But the problem is not reserves&mdash;it's production rate, ore grade decline, and extraction economics.
