This environment has enabled the RBI to pursue an accommodative stance, including a 25-basis-point cut in the benchmark repo rate earlier in December, bringing total rate cuts for the year to 125 basis points.</span></p>
<p data-start="1118" data-end="1319"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Reflecting confidence in the economic outlook, the central bank recently revised its FY26 inflation forecast downward to 2% from 2.6% and raised its GDP growth projection to 7.3%, up from 6.8%.</span></p>
<p data-start="1321" data-end="1555"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">India&rsquo;s growth momentum has remained resilient despite external pressures, including a 50% tariff imposed by the U.S. on Indian exports. Domestic reforms such as GST improvements and new labour codes have helped offset the impact.</span></p>
<p data-start="1557" data-end="1814" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The country&rsquo;s robust performance was underscored by an 8.2% GDP expansion in the July&ndash;September quarter, prompting the government to lift its overall growth estimate for the fiscal year to 7% or higher, against an earlier projection of 6.3% to 6.8%.</span></p>
