In a remarkable response from investors, Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) witnessed its ₹1,000 crore non-convertible debenture (NCD) issue being fully subscribed within just three hours of opening on Wednesday.
The issue attracted bids worth over ₹1,400 crore by 3:30 p.m., entirely from the non-institutional segment, including retail investors, high net-worth individuals (HNIs), and corporate investors, according to stock exchange data.
This is AEL&rsquo;s second public bond issuance, following its ₹800 crore NCD issue in September 2023, which also saw full-day subscription. The current issue offered a base size of ₹500 crore with a green shoe option of an additional ₹500 crore, aggregating up to ₹1,000 crore.
Market experts noted that the strong investor interest was driven by Adani&rsquo;s strong fundamentals, competitive yields, and solid credit ratings &mdash; CARE AA-; Stable and ICRA AA- (Stable).
The NCDs, priced at ₹1,000 each, are available in tenors of 24, 36, and 60 months with multiple interest payment options &mdash; quarterly, annually, and cumulative &mdash; across eight series. The bonds are to be listed on both the BSE and NSE.
At least 75% of the funds will be used to repay existing debt, while the remaining 25% will fund corporate needs. The offering was on a first-come, first-served basis and is expected to close early due to oversubscription.
