Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday said his security cover had been upgraded to Y-Plus category following threats to his life. 
Expressing concern over his safety, the former Bihar minister told reporters, &ldquo;People will get me killed.&rdquo;
Speaking to reporters in Patna, Tej Pratap Yadav said, &ldquo;My security has been increased because there is a threat to my life. People will get me killed. There are many enemies.&rdquo;
According to official sources, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs approved Y-Plus category security for Tej Pratap Yadav after a threat assessment report from security agencies. 
Under the upgraded cover, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) team will now be deployed for his protection.
Tej Pratap Yadav, who was expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his family by party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, launched his own political outfit, the Janshakti Janata Dal. 
He is contesting the Bihar Assembly election from Mahua constituency.
The Mahua seat went to polls in the first phase on November 6, where Yadav faced NDA&rsquo;s Sanjay Kumar Singh from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Jan Suraaj&rsquo;s Indrajeet Pradhan, and RJD&rsquo;s Mukesh Kumar Raushan, fielded by his brother Tejashwi Yadav.
Earlier this week, Yadav made headlines after he was seen greeting BJP MP Ravi Kishan at Patna airport. 
Responding to speculation surrounding the meeting, he said, &ldquo;It is a coincidence that I am meeting BJP MP Ravi Kishan again after meeting him yesterday.&rdquo;
