Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has categorically ruled out forming any alliance, either before or after the Bihar elections.&nbsp;
Speaking at the Bihar Power Play Conclave in Patna, Kishor asserted that his party will contest independently and even provided a written assurance to NDTV confirming the same.
In conversation with NDTV&rsquo;s Editor-in-Chief Rahul Kanwal, Managing Editor Padmaja Joshi, and Bihar Bureau Chief Prabhakar Kumar, Kishor said, &ldquo;Jan Suraaj did not ally with anyone before the Bihar elections, and it will not do so after the polls either.&rdquo;
When asked to estimate how many seats his party might win in its debut election, Kishor said there were two possibilities: &ldquo;People see Jan Suraaj as an alternative, but voting for us requires a leap of faith. Either we will win fewer than 10 seats or more than 150.&rdquo;
Addressing a question about potential alliances in case of a hung assembly, Kishor remained firm. 
&ldquo;We don&rsquo;t do politics of this side or that side. If people don&rsquo;t give us a mandate, we&rsquo;ll continue our work. I can give it in writing, no alliance before or after the polls,&rdquo; he stated.
At this point, Kanwal asked Kishor if he would literally put that in writing, referring to Kishor&rsquo;s habit of using the phrase while making political predictions. 
Kishor agreed and reiterated his stance.
On being asked what would happen if Jan Suraaj became crucial to government formation, Kishor said, &ldquo;If a situation arises where a government cannot be formed without us, I know people will switch sides. I might not be able to stop them. That&rsquo;s the lure of Lakshmi (money) and the fear of CBI.&rdquo;
Taking a veiled dig at the BJP, he added, &ldquo;Ask Amit Shah to also give it in writing that if NDA falls short of majority, they won&rsquo;t buy or pressure MLAs. You ask if we won&rsquo;t sell, ask those who will buy.&rdquo;
Discussing his transition from political strategist to active politician, Kishor said, &ldquo;Even now, I&rsquo;m making others contest. The only difference is that I&rsquo;ve created a new formation to do it. Earlier, I worked with existing ones.&rdquo;
When NDTV compared him with Aam Aadmi Party&rsquo;s Arvind Kejriwal, who unseated Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit in 2013, Kishor responded, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s good you say Kejriwal and I are different. Our politics is different too. Also, Bihar&rsquo;s Chief Minister isn&rsquo;t contesting; Sheila Dikshit was. If I contested against Tejashwi in Raghopur, people would say I&rsquo;m contesting against a backward leader.&rdquo;
