Union Jal Shakti Minister and Gujarat BJP President CR Patil on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fundamentally transformed Indian politics by ending the culture of appeasement and establishing transparency and accountability since taking office in 2014.&nbsp;
He made the remarks while addressing a press conference at the BJP's state headquarters, Shri Kamalam in Gandhinagar, alongside Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, to mark the completion of 11 years of the NDA government under PM Modi&rsquo;s leadership.
Rangolis were created by women at the BJP office in Gandhinagar to welcome the occasion, highlighting the government&rsquo;s achievements. The event was part of statewide celebrations organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Speaking at the press conference, Patil said, &ldquo;Before 2014, indulging in appeasement and creating rift among people to be in power had become India's political culture. However, Modi has changed this culture in 11 years. He has established a more transparent and accountable government that people have full faith in. Today, the entire world is looking at us with hope.&rdquo;
Patil described the transformation as &ldquo;unimaginable&rdquo; and added, &ldquo;What we have achieved in these 11 years will be written in golden letters.&rdquo; Referring to Modi's tenure, he said the Prime Minister has become the third longest-serving PM after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.
He also listed the government&rsquo;s major accomplishments: &ldquo;This is a decisive and strong government that governs by taking people along. It has removed Article 370 and abolished instant triple talaq. Under our government, 12 crore toilets have been built, 15 crore households now have tap water connections, 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty, and maternity leave has been increased from 12 weeks to 26 weeks.&rdquo;
On national security, Patil highlighted Operation Sindoor, saying, &ldquo;During Operation Sindoor, nine terror launch pads beyond the LOC were targeted and destroyed. Many terrorists were killed, sending a strong message to Pakistan and the world that India will not tolerate any provocation. The highlight of this operation was the precise and strong use of indigenous weapons systems, which the world witnessed.&rdquo;
He noted India's growing stature as a global power: &ldquo;Some countries are uneasy seeing India emerge as a new player and manufacturer in the global weapons market. India gave vaccines for free to 48 countries. The country that once stretched its hand to receive now extends its hand to give.&rdquo;
On women&rsquo;s empowerment, he said the Modi government has passed the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, ensuring 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies. He also emphasised the government's commitment to financial discipline and its ability to make tough decisions.
CM Patel Praises Decade of Development
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel lauded PM Modi&rsquo;s leadership and its impact on Gujarat and the nation. &ldquo;These 11 years have become a &lsquo;Decade of Development&rsquo; for the 1.4 billion citizens of India. Through inclusive, continuous, and progressive development, the common people of the country have grown in their trust toward the government,&rdquo; he said.
He praised the Prime Minister for landmark projects in Gujarat, including GIFT City, the Statue of Unity, Rajkot AIIMS, and the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project. He also highlighted Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya and renewable energy initiatives aimed at tackling global warming and climate change.
Patel concluded by stating, &ldquo;Modi is the first Prime Minister since Independence who has put the country's interest first. Earlier, the industrial sector was stuck in red tape because the previous regimes lacked a pro-development vision. Modi assuming office was the turning point. An era of political stability and development-centric politics began after Modi became the PM.&rdquo;
Nadda: PM Modi Built a Responsible Government
At a press conference in Delhi on Monday, BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda underscored the government's achievements and the changes brought in by PM Modi since 2014.&nbsp;
&ldquo;PM Modi has changed the country's politics and political culture. The country was appeased 11 years ago. Earlier, saving a political chair by dividing the society was the norm. When I say he changed the political culture of the country, it means politics of performance, responsive and responsible government, along with politics of report card, which means we are accountable. The work we are doing is in front of the public,&rdquo; said Nadda.
He said, &ldquo;We are completing 11 years under PM Modi's leadership. It is very difficult to confine 11 years in a press conference. The work done under PM Modi's leadership is written in golden words because of the unimaginable and unique works.&rdquo;
Nadda pointed out several key reforms and initiatives under Modi&rsquo;s leadership, including the world&rsquo;s largest COVID-19 vaccination campaign with 220 crore free doses, economic transformation that moved India from the 11th to the 4th largest economy, and initiatives like Operation Ganga, Operation Devi Shakti, and Operation Vaccine Maitri.
He also credited Modi with the completion of the Chenab Bridge, initially started in 1995 and declared a national project by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which was finally completed in 2025. &ldquo;This is the PM&rsquo;s commitment to development,&rdquo; he said.
On Jammu and Kashmir, Nadda highlighted the abrogation of Article 370: &ldquo;The country had accepted that this was not possible, but the Modi government removed Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.&rdquo;&nbsp;
He noted that the voter turnout in the Union Territory has significantly increased since then.
He said the Modi government ensured the welfare of marginalised communities, promoted women-led development, and implemented the Citizenship Amendment Act, the Waqf Amendment Act, demonetisation, and the abolition of triple talaq.
&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve moved forward with the mantra of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas'. From economic growth to social upliftment, the focus has been on people-centric, inclusive and all-round progress,&rdquo; Nadda added.
