The Congress on Friday intensified its criticism of the BJP government, accusing it of fostering a &ldquo;feudal mindset&rdquo; amid a sharp rise in crimes against Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), backward classes, and minorities.
In a post on X, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge cited National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, stating that crimes against SCs and STs have risen by 46% between 2013 and 2023, while crimes against Adivasis have surged by 91%.
Kharge linked these figures to a series of recent caste-based incidents, including the lynching of Hariom Valmiki, a Dalit man, in Uttar Pradesh&rsquo;s Rae Bareli; the alleged caste-based discrimination faced by an IPS officer in Haryana who later died by suicide; and the assault on Chief Justice of India BR Gavai. 
He also highlighted the harassment of Kamla Devi Raigar, an elderly Dalit woman in BJP-ruled Rajasthan&rsquo;s Sawai Madhopur district.
&ldquo;These incidents are not isolated &mdash; they represent a dangerous manifestation of the RSS&ndash;BJP&rsquo;s feudal mindset,&rdquo; Kharge wrote.
He further said that this pattern of violence and discrimination amounts to a direct assault on the core values enshrined in India&rsquo;s Constitution, including equality, justice, and social harmony.
