External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof in The Hague, expressing gratitude for the Netherlands&rsquo; strong condemnation of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties across various sectors.
Jaishankar conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s greetings and appreciated the Netherlands&rsquo; commitment to deepening the India-Netherlands partnership. He shared optimism about collaborative efforts between both countries moving forward.
Prime Minister Schoof, in turn, reiterated support for India&rsquo;s stance against terrorism and emphasized the importance of long-term cooperation in trade, technology, agriculture, and security. He also expressed hope for a future visit by PM Modi.
As part of his six-day tour to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany, Jaishankar also engaged with the Indian diaspora in The Hague and met with Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans to explore defence collaboration. He held detailed talks with Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, focusing on global developments and the evolving multipolar world order.
Additionally, Jaishankar participated in discussions with strategic experts, aiming to chart future pathways for India-Netherlands cooperation in geopolitical, economic, and defence areas.
