Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal bolstered India&rsquo;s strategic partnership with Israel during a series of high-level engagements held from November 20&ndash;21, the government said on Saturday.
Goyal&rsquo;s meetings focused on expanding cooperation across agriculture, innovation, mobility, technology, finance and trade, reflecting deepening bilateral alignment.
During discussions with Israel&rsquo;s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Avi Dichter, the two leaders explored ways to enhance agricultural collaboration. 
Dichter briefed Goyal on Israel&rsquo;s long-term food-security roadmap, advanced seed-improvement initiatives and water-reuse technologies. 
Goyal noted that Israel&rsquo;s expertise aligns strongly with India&rsquo;s agricultural priorities.
The Minister also visited the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, where he reviewed key technological breakthroughs including drip-irrigation systems, medical stent innovations, the Iron Dome system and advanced virtual-reality solutions. 
Goyal described the centre as an inspiring showcase of Israel&rsquo;s innovation journey.
In a separate engagement, he experienced an autonomous-drive demonstration by Mobileye, highlighting Israel&rsquo;s progress in next-generation mobility technologies. 
He later toured Kibbutz Ramat Rachel to understand its cooperative lifestyle and sustainable farming practices.
Goyal began his visit with a meeting with Israel&rsquo;s Minister of Economy, Nir Barkat, where both leaders reviewed trade ties and discussed new avenues for cooperation. 
This was followed by the India&ndash;Israel Business Forum, which brought together senior industry leaders for technical sessions and B2B interactions. 
Addressing the forum, Goyal highlighted major opportunities in fintech, agritech, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, pharmaceuticals, defence, space and advanced manufacturing.
He also met Israel&rsquo;s Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, to explore strengthened investment flows and regulatory coordination. 
As part of industry engagements, Goyal interacted with top Israeli firms including Check Point, IDE Technologies, NTA and Netafim, discussing collaborations in cybersecurity, water management, urban mobility and irrigation systems.
A key milestone of the visit was the signing of the Terms of Reference for the India&ndash;Israel Free Trade Agreement, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing negotiations in a balanced manner.
Goyal also engaged with Israeli media, met members of the diamond community, a major pillar of bilateral trade, and joined the India&ndash;Israel CEOs Forum alongside Minister Barkat, underscoring the growing potential of the bilateral economic partnership.
