Curfew remained imposed in Leh town for the fifth consecutive day on Sunday (September 28, 2025), following last week&rsquo;s violence during protests. 
Officials confirmed that Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta will chair a security review meeting to decide on possible relaxation of restrictions.
The curfew, which was first enforced on September 24 after widespread protests erupted during a shutdown called by the Leh Apex Body (LAB), has been strictly observed. 
The agitation was launched to press demands for statehood and the inclusion of Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule.
On Saturday (September 27), authorities relaxed restrictions for the first time, allowing a four-hour phased break from curfew. 
The relaxation period passed peacefully, raising hopes of further easing, depending on the outcome of the upcoming review meeting.
