A day before Parliament is set to hold a 16 hour long discussion on&nbsp;Operation Sindoor, the BJP launched a sharp attack on Congress Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of undermining India&rsquo;s global standing and &ldquo;parroting&rdquo; Pakistan&rsquo;s narrative.
The ruling party&rsquo;s criticism centers on Gandhi&rsquo;s recent remarks questioning global support for India following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The BJP contends that such statements are not only misleading but closely resemble Pakistan&rsquo;s long standing rhetoric on international forums.
Amit Malviya, head of the BJP&rsquo;s IT cell, took to social media to list the overwhelming global support India received in the aftermath of the attack. &ldquo;Rahul Gandhi asked, &lsquo;Who supported us?&rsquo; The truth is, everyone did. Except him,&rdquo; said Malviya in a post on X.
He cited support from a wide spectrum of global powers and neutral countries alike, from&nbsp;UN Secretary-General Ant&oacute;nio Guterres to nations like Saudi Arabia, UAE, France, the US, Japan, and even China, which labeled the attack &ldquo;shocking&rdquo; and &ldquo;severely condemnable.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Even countries that usually remain non-committal on such matters took a clear stand against terrorism and expressed solidarity with India,&rdquo; Malviya said.
The BJP leader further accused Gandhi of repeating similar behavior in the past, including questioning the Balakot airstrikes, criticizing the government abroad, and echoing Chinese positions during the Galwan clash.
&ldquo;He has often spoken the language of Pakistan&rsquo;s ISPR, not India,&rdquo; Malviya said, referring to Pakistan's military media wing.
As India prepares for a detailed debate in the Lok Sabha on Monday and Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju confirmed that both houses will dedicate 16 hours each to discuss the government&rsquo;s response to cross-border terrorism under Operation Sindoor.
The BJP has also framed the narrative around India&rsquo;s rising global influence. &ldquo;India no longer pleads for global sympathy,&rdquo; Malviya declared. &ldquo;We lead the Global South, shape the Indo-Pacific, and crush terrorism on our terms.&rdquo;
While the Congress party has yet to respond to the BJP&rsquo;s pointed accusations, the clash sets the stage for what is expected to be a heated session in Parliament, as the ruling party and opposition debate India's counterterrorism strategy and foreign policy positioning.
