Bangladesh Chief Justice Obedul Hasan is poised to resign following Saturday's protests where hundreds surrounded the Supreme Court in Dhaka. The demonstrators issued an ultimatum to Hasan and the judges of the Appellate Division to resign by 1 pm local time. According to The Dhaka Tribune, Obedul Hasan plans to submit his resignation later in the evening after discussing the matter with President Mohammad Shahabuddin. The chief justice announced his decision on Saturday amid protests. Around 10:30 am, thousands of protesters, including students and lawyers, gathered at the Supreme Court and demanded the resignation of the Chief Justice and Appellate Division judges. In the morning, Asif Mahmood, adviser to the interim government's Ministry of Youth and Sports, took to Facebook to demand the unconditional resignation of Chief Justice Obedul Hasan and requested the cancellation of the scheduled full court meeting. Amid the protests, Chief Justice Hasan adjourned a full court meeting to discuss whether court functions would continue virtually. Appointed as the Supreme Court chief last year, Obedul Hasan is seen as a supporter of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India by helicopter on Monday, has faced allegations of mass protests and human rights abuses, including the extrajudicial killing of political opponents.

સવારે 10:30 વાગ્યાની આસપાસ, વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને વકીલો સહિત હજારો વિરોધીઓ સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટમાં એકઠા થયા હતા અને મુખ્ય ન્યાયાધીશ અને એપેલેટ વિભાગના ન્યાયાધીશોના રાજીનામાની માંગણી કરી હતી.
સવારે, વચગાળાની સરકારના યુવા અને રમતગમત મંત્રાલયના સલાહકાર આસિફ મહમુદે ફેસબુક પર ચીફ જસ્ટિસ ઓબેદુલ હસનનું બિનશરતી રાજીનામું માંગ્યું અને સુનિશ્ચિત પૂર્ણ અદાલતની બેઠક રદ કરવાની વિનંતી કરી.
વિરોધ દરમિયાન, મુખ્ય ન્યાયાધીશ હસને ફુલ કોર્ટ મીટિંગ મુલતવી રાખી હતી, જેનો હેતુ કોર્ટના કાર્યો વર્ચ્યુઅલ રીતે ચાલુ રહેશે કે કેમ તે અંગે ચર્ચા કરવાનો હતો.
