The Indian stock market extended its losing streak on Monday as investor sentiment soured over delays in the India-US trade agreement, weak Q1 earnings, and sustained Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) outflows.
The Sensex closed at 80,891.02, slipping 572.07 points (0.70%), while the Nifty ended at 24,680.90, down 156.10 points (0.63%). Market opening was tepid, and losses deepened throughout the day, with IT, banking, and financial stocks bearing the brunt.
&ldquo;Market sentiment remains cautious, driven by global uncertainty, lacklustre earnings, and FII selling,&rdquo; said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.

Meanwhile, the Rupee weakened 0.10% to 86.65 amid capital market jitters.
Looking ahead, the week could remain volatile with the US Fed&rsquo;s policy decision, Bank of Japan's outlook, and the August 1st trade deal deadline influencing direction.
&ldquo;The rupee is likely to remain range-bound between 86.25 and 86.90,&rdquo; said Jateen Trivedi of LKP Securities.
