After a brief losing streak, Indian equity markets bounced back on Monday as strong buying in banking heavyweights fueled a broad-based rally. The BSE Sensex surged 442.61 points (0.54%) to close at 82,200.34, while the Nifty 50 climbed 122.30 points to end at 25,090.70.
The rally was led by encouraging earnings from major banks, restoring investor confidence. Analysts highlighted that the market remains earnings-sensitive, with investors keenly awaiting quarterly reports to justify current valuations.
In early trade, the Sensex opened on a positive note at 81,918.53 but witnessed intra-day volatility, touching a low of 81,518.66 before rebounding.
Among the top gainers in the Sensex pack were ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Zomato, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Adani Ports, and Tata Motors. On the flip side, Reliance, HCL Tech, TCS, ITC, and Hindustan Unilever ended in the red.

Broader markets also witnessed significant traction. The Nifty Midcap 100 gained 363.85 points, and Nifty Next 50 surged 278 points.
However, ongoing trade negotiations between India and the US injected a note of caution, slightly capping gains, according to analysts at Ashika Institutional Equities.
Meanwhile, the Indian Rupee depreciated by 0.18%, trading at ₹86.25, as traders await US Fed Chair Jerome Powell&rsquo;s upcoming speech which could drive dollar volatility.
Market participants are also keeping a close eye on upcoming Manufacturing and Services PMI data, which may influence future movement.
