The Indian stock market ended on a strong note on Wednesday, with the Sensex rallying 539.83 points to close at 82,726.64, supported by robust buying across banking, auto, financial, and healthcare sectors. The Nifty 50 also surged 159 points to settle at 25,219.90.
The day&rsquo;s bullish tone was driven by value buying in heavyweight stocks like Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, and HDFC Bank. On the other hand, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, and Ultratech Cement saw some profit booking.
Sectorally, Nifty Bank rose 0.80%, Nifty Auto gained 0.85%, and Nifty IT added 0.25%, while FMCG and metals saw mild declines. Out of the Nifty50 constituents, 37 advanced and 13 declined.
According to Ashika Institutional Equities, the market saw a &ldquo;bifurcated&rdquo; trend, with strength in key growth sectors and selective weakness in realty and consumer goods.
Global sentiment was boosted by renewed optimism around the US-Japan trade deal, improving hopes of broader international agreements.
In currency markets, the Rupee traded flat near 86.40, as investors awaited the US Fed&rsquo;s interest rate decision next week. The dollar index remained stable near 97.40.
