According to Sudip Shah of SBI Securities, the Indian market is currently consolidating and underperforming compared to global indices, indicating caution among domestic investors. Key triggers remain Q1 earnings and any update on the US-India trade deal or global tariffs.
Last week, benchmark indices saw sharp declines, with the Sensex down 932 points to 82,500.47 and Nifty shedding 311 points to 25,149.85. Sector-wise, IT, Auto, Infra, and Energy stocks declined, while FMCG stocks saw fresh buying, with the Nifty FMCG index gaining 2.15%.
