Indian stock markets ended in the green on Tuesday, buoyed by optimism over a possible breakthrough in the long-anticipated India-US trade deal. The Sensex gained 270.01 points to close at 83,712.51, while the Nifty rose 61.20 points to settle at 25,522.50.
Though the session began on a cautious note, investor sentiment improved as talks of a &ldquo;mini&rdquo; trade pact between the two nations gained momentum. The indices traded within a narrow range as markets awaited concrete developments.
"While the outlook is cautiously optimistic, the lack of official confirmation on the deal kept investors from aggressive buying," said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services. He also pointed out that the U.S. decision to delay the 25% tariff implementation on certain trading partners influenced market sentiment.
Among top gainers were Kotak Bank, Adani Ports, NTPC, Infosys, and HDFC Bank. On the flip side, Reliance, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, and TCS ended in the red. Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial Services gained 0.54% and 0.68% respectively, while Nifty IT inched up by 0.30%.
Market expert Rupak De from LKP Securities noted a bullish tone forming on the charts, indicating possible upward movement ahead. Key resistance is seen near 25,800, with support at 25,400.
Meanwhile, the rupee firmed up by 20 paise to close at 85.65, supported by easing crude oil prices and reduced FII outflows.
