Gold and silver prices showed mixed trends on Tuesday, with gold falling marginally while silver registered a sharp rise in both domestic and international markets. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold declined by ₹91 to ₹1,00,076 per 10 grams from ₹1,00,167 on Monday. 22-carat gold also dipped from ₹91,753 to ₹91,670, and 18-carat gold slipped slightly to ₹75,057 per 10 grams. In contrast, silver prices jumped ₹522, rising from ₹1,11,900 to ₹1,12,422 per kg. The futures market mirrored this pattern. Gold futures for October 3, 2025, on MCX dropped 0.37% to ₹1,00,830/10g, while silver futures for September 5, 2025, gained 0.33% to ₹1,12,160. On the global stage, gold remained weak, trading down 0.31% at $3,416.20 per ounce, whereas silver rose 0.65% to $37.58 per ounce on Comex. Jateen Trivedi of LKP Securities said, &ldquo;Gold faced resistance at $3370&ndash;$3375 levels on Comex. Meanwhile, the rupee staying firm around 87.80 added pressure on local gold prices.&rdquo; While traders monitor manufacturing PMI data, the market remains focused on escalating US trade tariffs, which could affect commodity pricing globally.
