The Indore Retail Garments Association has declared that any member retailer found selling garments manufactured in China or Bangladesh will be penalised with a fine of Rs 1.11 lakh.
Akshay Jain, President of the Association, informed reporters that the decision was taken in alignment with national interests.&nbsp;
"Our organisation believes that the business of clothes made in China and Bangladesh is against Indian interests. Therefore, we have decided that if any of our member shopkeepers is found selling clothes made in these countries, they will be fined Rs 1.11 lakh," he stated.
Jain further mentioned that the collected fines would be contributed to the Central government&rsquo;s fund designated for the Indian Army.
He also claimed that 600 garment traders in Indore have so far endorsed the resolution, pledging not to engage in the sale of clothing produced in China or Bangladesh.
