Dehradun, Oct 1:Tension prevailed in Dehradun&rsquo;s Patel Nagar area after a social media post allegedly containing derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad sparked protests, leading police to conduct a flag march.
Officials said the public was urged to maintain peace and warned against any attempt to disturb communal harmony. 
While the atmosphere has remained tense since Tuesday night, when locals took to the streets, police maintained that the situation is under control.
According to authorities, the controversy erupted after a screenshot with objectionable comments about Prophet Mohammad was shared on Monday. 
The post was allegedly uploaded by 19-year-old Gulshan Singh, a resident of Patel Nagar originally from Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh.
