Two major divisions of the CPI (Maoist)&rsquo;s Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) &mdash; Gadchiroli and North Bastar &mdash; along with Company-10 and the group&rsquo;s technical wing, have endorsed politburo member Mallojula Venugopal alias Sonu&rsquo;s appeal for a temporary suspension of armed insurgency.
In an earlier six-page note, Sonu admitted to &ldquo;dogmatism, wrong policies, and failure to adapt,&rdquo; acknowledging that the Maoist movement had weakened and failed to achieve its objectives. 
While the party&rsquo;s central committee dismissed him as a conspirator, new statements dated September 27 and 28 echoed his concerns.
The North Bastar division conceded that despite &ldquo;immense sacrifices,&rdquo; the armed struggle had not improved the lives of local people, and that the current generation of youth &ldquo;is not ready to join.&rdquo; It called for shifting focus towards political mobilisation. 
Meanwhile, the Gadchiroli division hailed Sonu&rsquo;s suggestion as &ldquo;historic,&rdquo; pointing to declining mass support, dwindling recruitment, and weakening trust in leadership.
Bastar Range IG Sundarraj P said the statements highlighted the internal crisis within the Maoist ranks. 
&ldquo;These notes show support for ending violence. It indicates CPI (Maoist) is withering rapidly and nearing its end,&rdquo; he remarked, urging remaining cadres to return to the mainstream.
