Navarro had lashed out at India&rsquo;s oil trade with Russia, alleging it was driven by profit and accusing Indian authorities of spinning narratives. His remarks were flagged by X&rsquo;s Community Notes as &ldquo;misleading,&rdquo; sparking a heated exchange.

Navarro has previously criticised New Delhi&rsquo;s foreign policy choices, even urging India to side with Washington over Moscow. Meanwhile, leaders from both India and the US have repeatedly described the bilateral relationship as &ldquo;special&rdquo; and &ldquo;forward-looking,&rdquo; despite periodic friction.
