1.&nbsp;Centrist leader and presidential candidate: Bayrou is the leader of the centrist Democratic Movement (MoDem)&nbsp;party, and ran for president three times (2002, 2007, and 2012). His best performance came in 2007, when he garnered 18.6% of the vote in the first round, finishing third.
2.&nbsp;Prominent advocate for European integration: Bayrou is a staunch supporter of European integration and the European Union, often highlighting the need to strengthen&nbsp;France&rsquo;s role in Europe and advocating for closer collaboration among EU nations.

Bayrou will now form a government, and present the national budget for 2025. However, his Democratic Movement (MoDem)&nbsp;party does not hold a majority in the National Assembly--a fact that Jordan Bardella, president of the far-right wing party National Rally (RN)&nbsp;was quick to point out.
Bardella also said his party will not immediately censor Bayrou, but reminded the incoming PM of the need for &ldquo;dialogue with all the forces represented in the parliament&rdquo;.
Meanwhile, the hard-left party La France Insoumise (LFI) has announced it will launch a no-confidence vote to bring down Bayrou. LFI has repeatedly said that the position of Prime Minister should be given to someone from the alliance of left-wing parties, which won the most seats in the snap legislative elections held this year.
Notably, the French National Assembly voted in favour of a no-confidence motion against Michel Barnier, making his government the first to fall to a no-confidence vote since 1962.
