A dramatic video has emerged showing how Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Mar&iacute;a Corina Machado was extracted from Venezuela in December 2025 by a U.S.-based rescue team so she could travel to Norway to receive her award.
The operation, conducted by Grey Bull Rescue, involved Machado boarding a small boat from the Venezuelan coast and heading into the Caribbean Sea where the rescue team met her at a predetermined point. In the newly released footage, Machado is seen boarding the second, larger vessel in the dark, with voices in the audio confirming her identity and the extraction&rsquo;s success.
Once aboard, Machado is shown wearing a dark jacket and hat, addressing the camera to confirm that she was safe and grateful to her rescuers. The operation, dubbed Operation Golden Dynamite, was carried out amid rough seas and challenging conditions that lasted many hours before she was taken to a secure location and eventually flew to Oslo for the Nobel ceremony.
Machado had spent nearly a year in hiding inside Venezuela amid threats from Nicol&aacute;s Maduro&rsquo;s government. Her dramatic escape and high-profile award have drawn global attention, especially as U.S. political and military involvement in Venezuela increased in recent weeks.
After the operation, Machado met with U.S. leadership, where she presented her Nobel Peace Prize medal to U.S. President Donald Trump in a symbolic gesture recognising his support for Venezuelan freedom. The Nobel Institute later clarified that prizes are non-transferable and remain legally tied to the original laureate.
