A mass shooting in downtown Los Angeles has left two people dead and six others injured, including two in critical condition. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. near 14th Place and Griffith Avenue, where multiple parties were being held. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers initially dispersed an unauthorized gathering of over 50 people on Sunday night and arrested one individual for illegal gun possession.
However, hours later, reports of gunfire brought police back to the location, where they discovered eight victims with gunshot wounds. A male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 52-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The injured, aged between 26 and 62, were rushed to local hospitals.
Authorities have not made any arrests, and the motive remains unknown. An investigation is ongoing. This incident follows another tragic shooting on Friday at The Owl Bar in Anaconda, Montana, where four people were killed. Police have identified Michael Paul Brown as the suspect and warned he is armed and dangerous. The public has been advised to avoid the Stumptown area.
