US President Donald Trump is set to meet Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday during the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Pakistani delegation is led by Sharif and includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other senior officials.
The meeting comes amid ongoing regional tensions following the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir and subsequent Indian military responses. Earlier this year, the US mediated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which Trump is expected to highlight during his address at the UNGA.
In addition to the meeting with Sharif, Trump&rsquo;s schedule includes bilateral discussions with leaders from Ukraine, Argentina, and the European Union, as well as a session with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He will also attend a multilateral meeting with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan.
Trump is delivering his first General Debate address of his second term, focusing on themes of American strength and his administration&rsquo;s efforts to end global conflicts.
