US President Donald Trump is celebrating what he calls a &ldquo;GREAT VICTORY&rdquo; as the Senate narrowly passed his much-touted 'Big Beautiful Bill', a major piece of legislation that focuses on immigration, tax cuts, military funding, and border security.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Trump praised the bill&rsquo;s passage, stating:
&ldquo;Tonight we saw a GREAT VICTORY in the Senate with the &lsquo;GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL,&rsquo; but it wouldn&rsquo;t have happened without the Fantastic Work of Senator Rick Scott, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Ron Johnson, and Senator Cynthia Lummis.&rdquo;
Trump added that the bill aims to "grow the economy, reduce wasteful spending, secure our border, support the military and veterans, fix Medicaid, and protect the Second Amendment."
Despite Republican control, the bill passed with a tight 51-49 vote, as GOP Senators Thom Tillis, Ron Johnson, and Rand Paul broke ranks and sided with Democrats.
