Following violent confrontations between protesters and police in Los Angeles, the Trump administration ordered the deployment of thousands of military personnel to support law enforcement on the ground.

President Trump, addressing the nation from the White House and earlier during a speech at Fort Bragg, labelled the demonstrators &ldquo;paid insurrectionists&rdquo; and &ldquo;foreign agitators,&rdquo; accusing them of carrying foreign flags and using sophisticated anti-riot gear. &ldquo;These are not peaceful protests. This is a coordinated attack on American sovereignty,&rdquo; Trump said, defending his decision to redirect troops from the Middle East to handle the escalating situation at home.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed the President&rsquo;s sentiments, stating that &ldquo;President Trump will never allow mob rule to prevail in America.&rdquo; She lashed out at California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, blaming them for failing to maintain order and accusing them of vilifying ICE officers. &ldquo;They chose to fan the flames instead of upholding law and order,&rdquo; Leavitt said during the briefing, with live visuals behind her showing burning vehicles and masked protesters clashing with riot police.
