U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed credit for resolving the India-Pakistan conflict earlier this year and asserted that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for &ldquo;ending seven wars.&rdquo; Trump stated that trade incentives were key to his strategy in halting hostilities between the two nuclear-armed nations.
Despite Trump&rsquo;s claims, India has consistently denied any third-party intervention. In May, India&rsquo;s foreign secretary confirmed that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan occurred after direct communication between military officials of both countries, without external mediation.
Trump also cited other international conflicts, claiming that his trade-driven diplomacy helped stop wars in Thailand, Cambodia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, Serbia, Israel, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and the Congo. He suggested that stopping the Russia-Ukraine conflict could qualify him for a Nobel Prize.
India conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed in Parliament that no foreign leader requested India to halt the operation.
