In a startling revelation, U.S. President Donald Trump has alleged that Pakistan continues to conduct secret underground nuclear tests, claiming that the South Asian nation hides such activities from global scrutiny.
Trump asserted that while the&nbsp;United States has refrained from testing nuclear weapons for more than three decades, countries like Pakistan, North Korea, China, and Russia have continued to test covertly.&nbsp;&ldquo;We&rsquo;re going to test because they test,&rdquo; Trump declared. &ldquo;Certainly North Korea&rsquo;s been testing. Pakistan&rsquo;s been testing. They don&rsquo;t go and tell you about it. They test way underground, where people don&rsquo;t know what&rsquo;s happening. You just feel a little vibration.&rdquo;
Trump&rsquo;s remarks mark the first time a U.S. President has directly accused Pakistan of ongoing nuclear testing.&nbsp;He went on to defend his administration&rsquo;s move to end the 33-year moratorium on U.S. nuclear testing, stating that Washington could not afford to lag behind other powers.
&ldquo;Russia&rsquo;s testing and China&rsquo;s testing. Other countries are testing. We&rsquo;re the only country that doesn&rsquo;t test and I don&rsquo;t want to be the only country that doesn&rsquo;t test,&rdquo; he said, emphasizing that the U.S. must &ldquo;see how they work.&rdquo; Reiterating America&rsquo;s nuclear superiority, Trump said, &ldquo;We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world 150 times. Russia has a lot, and China has quite a bit too.&rdquo;
On Thursday, Trump confirmed that preparations were underway to resume U.S. nuclear testing, citing advancements in Russia&rsquo;s nuclear-capable systems like the Poseidon underwater drone. &ldquo;They seem to all be nuclear testing,&rdquo; Trump told aboard Air Force One. &ldquo;We have more nuclear weapons than anybody. We don&rsquo;t do testing but with others doing testing, I think it&rsquo;s appropriate that we do also.&rdquo;

Trump revived his earlier claim that he averted a nuclear war between India and Pakistan, crediting his trade and tariff strategy for compelling both nations to de-escalate.
&ldquo;They were going to have a nuclear war,&rdquo; Trump said. &ldquo;I told both of them, if you guys don&rsquo;t work out a deal fast, you&rsquo;re not going to do any business with the United States.&rdquo;&nbsp;The remarks referenced tensions following Operation Sindoor, where India conducted precision strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoJK after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.&nbsp;Trump claimed his &ldquo;tariff diplomacy&rdquo; was instrumental in cooling tempers:&nbsp;&ldquo;If it wasn&rsquo;t for tariffs and trade, I wouldn&rsquo;t have been able to make the deals.&rdquo;
However, India has consistently denied any third-party mediation, asserting that the ceasefire was achieved bilaterally through direct military communication.&nbsp;New Delhi reiterated that issues with Pakistan are bilateral, including those concerning Jammu and Kashmir.
