The Kremlin&rsquo;s statement following the call made it clear that Russia&rsquo;s demands for a full ceasefire remain uncompromising. Putin reportedly insisted that any broader peace agreement must include a complete end to Western military and intelligence support for Ukraine&mdash;conditions that Kyiv and its NATO allies are unlikely to accept.
Adding to the complexity, Trump had earlier suggested he was open to discussing &ldquo;dividing up certain assets,&rdquo; a vague reference to potential territorial concessions. Such remarks have raised concerns among U.S. allies about how much Trump might be willing to concede to Putin to secure a deal.
Energy Ceasefire&rsquo;s Strategic Impact
The temporary pause in attacks on Ukraine&rsquo;s energy infrastructure carries significant strategic implications. Despite the energy ceasefire, active combat persists on the ground. Kyiv has continued its counteroffensive, launching drone and missile strikes deep into Russian territory. Notably, on the night of March 10, Ukrainian forces sent over 330 drones toward Moscow, targeting oil refineries and logistics hubs crucial to Russia&rsquo;s war effort.
