The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that Israeli fighter jets launched precision strikes on the Quds Force headquarters in Tehran, dramatically escalating the conflict with Iran.
The IDF said the operation targeted command centres used to plan attacks against Israel via Iran&rsquo;s regional proxies. &ldquo;The headquarters of the Quds Force and Iranian army were hit with precise intelligence guidance,&rdquo; the IDF posted on X, adding that 10 locations were struck.
The Quds Force, a powerful unit of Iran&rsquo;s Revolutionary Guards, is accused by Israel of coordinating militant operations through groups like Hezbollah.
In response, Iran fired ballistic missiles into central Israel, killing at least four people and injuring dozens. Magen David Adom reported 87 people were hospitalised, including one woman with severe facial injuries.
On Iran&rsquo;s side, the toll continued to rise as airstrikes persisted. The Iranian Health Ministry reported 230 deaths, with nearly 90% being civilians.
Tehran has refused to enter ceasefire talks, stating negotiations will only begin once its full military retaliation concludes.
Israel claims to have struck more than 80 targets overnight, including nuclear facilities, oil depots, and government buildings in Tehran, Isfahan, and Ahvaz. Among the reported casualties are top military officials and nuclear scientists.
