The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have launched a major offensive on key military infrastructure in Tehran, striking centrifuge production and multiple weapon manufacturing facilities critical to Iran&rsquo;s nuclear and missile programs.
According to the IDF, over 50 fighter jets carried out the precision strikes based on intelligence inputs, as the Israel-Iran conflict entered its sixth day on Wednesday. The IDF said a facility producing centrifuges&mdash;used to enrich uranium beyond civilian energy needs&mdash;was targeted to weaken Iran&rsquo;s nuclear weapons development efforts.
In a series of social media posts, the IDF emphasised, &ldquo;Iran's uranium enrichment is far beyond what's required for civilian purposes.&rdquo;
Other targeted facilities included plants manufacturing raw materials and parts for surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missile systems used by the Iranian regime in recent assaults on Israel.
In a separate strike on Tuesday night, the IDF confirmed the killing of Ali Shadmani, Iran&rsquo;s wartime Chief of Staff and a senior aide to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to the military, Shadmani was a central figure who commanded both the Iranian army and the Revolutionary Guards.
This marks the second time in recent weeks that Israel has assassinated a high-ranking Iranian military commander.
The conflict began last Friday when Israel launched a large-scale offensive aimed at crippling Iran&rsquo;s military and nuclear infrastructure. As both nations intensify their strikes, fears of a broader regional war are escalating.
