Israel received the body of another hostage from the Gaza Strip on Thursday night as part of the ongoing ceasefire arrangement with Hamas. 
The transfer was facilitated through the Red Cross, according to a statement from the Israeli prime minister&rsquo;s office.
The remains were handed over to Israeli military and Shin Bet personnel inside Gaza before being transported to Israel for identification, the statement said. 
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased.
Earlier in the day, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced they would transfer the body, which they said had been recovered in the Morag area, north of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Before this latest handover, Hamas had returned the remains of 24 hostages under the current ceasefire terms. 
If the identity of the newly received body is verified, three more bodies remain to be returned to Israel.
The ceasefire, in place since October 10, has significantly reduced Israeli operations in Gaza but has not completely halted them. 
Gaza&rsquo;s health authorities reported that at least 260 Palestinians have been killed and 632 wounded by Israeli fire since Oct. 11, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed since October 2023 to at least 69,187.
